What kind of hotel is Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk?
If you are looking for a city hotel with amazing views in Fukuoka, you may want to stay here. We fully enjoyed the dynamic views of Hakata Bay from our room. The location is next to Fukuoka PayPay Dome.
TOP5 Hotels and Ryokans with Great Views in Fukuoka, Kyushu
On the other hand, if you plan to stay on weekends, Japan’s public holidays, or days when events are held at the Fukuoka dome, it is not recommended.
Because the hotel would be very crowded more than you expect. You may need to make a long line at restaurants, the reception when you check-in and out, and large communal baths, etc. You may feel stressed during your stay.
In fact, when I stayed here, even though I arrived at the hotel before 3:00 PM, I saw people standing in a long line in front of the reception. Before you book it, be sure to check the event schedule for the Fukuoka Dome and, if possible, stay on a day when there is no event. This hotel is famous for taking too long to check-in and check out. Be careful when booking a room.
Then the atmosphere is family-oriented, friendly, and lively. The hotel would be great for families, couples, solo travelers, or groups. If you are a solo traveler, a business person, or a romantic couple, you may want to stay on weekdays or when there are no events at the Fukuoka Dome.
Alternatively, I would recommend staying at Hotel Marinoa Resort Fukuoka or Garden Terrace Fukuoka close to the Fukuoka dome. When there is an event at the Fukuoka Dome, it is difficult to catch a cab around the area, so you need to walk a bit to Tojinmachi Station from the Fukuoka Dome if you stay at the above hotels, but it is much better than waiting in line inside the hotel.
Is the location easy to access?
Yes, access to the hotel from Fukuoka Airport is easy. An airport shuttle bus is available. Refer to the timetable. It takes 60min. The bus fare is JPY1,000 for adults. Also, a free shuttle service is available from the hotel to the nearest subway station, Tojinmachi Station between 10:00 and 19:00 on Saturdays and Sundays only.
If you walk from Tojinmachi Station, it takes 20min. If you take a cab, it takes 5min and costs around JPY800.
Rooms I would recommend?
Overall, the facilities, furniture, and appliances in the rooms tend to worn out. Shower water pressure is weak. Also, after a typhoon or the day after a stormy, windy, rainy weather, sometimes the windows of the room are pretty dirty and you can’t get a great view more than you expect.
Then I wouldn’t recommend a Panoramic Suite in the photo above. You might think you can see the spectacular view while taking a bath, but after about five minutes, the window glass fogs up with steam and you can hardly see outside. This room may be a disappointment.
If you want to stay in a tranquil ambiance, you may want to book a room on a high floor with access to the executive lounge. Because you don’t need to make a long line when you check-in and out at the lobby. You can check in and out at the executive lounge on 33F. *The reception at the lounge is closed at 17:00. You need to check-in at the reception on 4F after 17:00.
How about the executive lounge?
You can enjoy food presentations at the executive lounge, such as breakfast, afternoon tea, and cocktail time on 33F. You can relax here while seeing a nice city view in good weather. The lounge is open between 6:00 and 20:00.
Afternoon tea 14:00-16:00
Cocktail hour 18:00-20:00
For breakfast, you can choose between the executive lounge or the restaurant on the 4th floor, but I would recommend the executive lounge since the restaurant is expected to be crowded.
Afternoon tea is served with complimentary orange cake, fruit compote, cherry blossom cake, chocolate mousse, macaroons, scones, soft drinks, coffees, teas, and more.
During cocktail hour, candles on the table are prepared and the ambiance becomes more mature.
The cocktail hour was full of food: French bread, blue cheese, camembert cheese, prosciutto, Genovese pasta and ham, potato salad, vegetable sticks, stir-fried shrimp in chili sauce, grilled chicken, stir-fried broccoli, strawberry cake, orange cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake, etc. The menu also includes unlimited wine, sake, shochu, cocktails, whiskey, gin, and more. The food presentation at this hotel would be the most enjoyable of all the Hilton hotels in Japan. As for drinks, there was no fine wine or champagne when I stayed.
Is this child-friendly?

Room service is available. Then Free WIFI reception is not available, but if you register for Hilton Honors, you can connect to the internet for free. Only the lobby and restaurants were connected to free wifi without registration.
How about In-house Facilities?
If you stay on 6F, 7F, or the executive floors, you can use large communal stone baths for free. If you stay on other floors, it costs JPY1,600. All of them are open from 7:00-10:00, 15:00-24:00. They are not hot springs. If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area.
Then there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools with jet baths and saunas. The indoor one is open all year round. The outdoor one is open in the summer season only. It costs JPY2,000.
Also, there is a small gym which you can use for free. This is open for 24H. You can rent swimwear, sportswear, and running shoes, etc. Only the gym has a minimum age requirement of 18 applies.
Then this is pet-friendly. There are two rooms where you can stay with your dogs. *Up to 10 kilograms. Your dog’s meals and restroom use are your responsibility.
Then the hotel is a universal design. There are two rooms for wheelchair users. If you bring someone with weak legs, you may want to inform the staff in advance as they arrange a room near the lift.

There is a convenience store, a drug store, and a souvenir shop, etc., on-site.
Overall, the hotel has great value for money. If you want to get much of an immersive “City view” experience in Fukuoka, it’s worth a stay, but you need to be prepared for the above when staying at this hotel.
At last, don’t forget to check the weather forecast before booking a room. That’s the most important. Have a nice trip! Welcome to receive any questions about Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk from the below space.
*You may want to avoid checking in between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM as there would be long lines in front of the reception, especially on weekends and Japan’s public holidays.
