If you are looking for small luxury resort hotels in Hiroshima, I would highly recommend staying at Bella Vista Spa and Marina ONOMICHI. This is absolutely a spectacular place to refresh your mind. There are 45 rooms only. On the other hand, this is your first visit to Hiroshima, or plan to visit many spots, I wouldn’t recommend it. Once you enter the property, you wouldn’t need to go out until check-out. There are some public facilities and interesting activates in the resort. One night’s stay wouldn’t be enough. We almost forget we were in Hiroshima during our stay. This is like a paradise. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and serene. The property would be great for couples, solo travelers, family, or small groups. If you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a room with a terrace. We fully enjoyed seeing the magnificent landscape of the Inland Sea while chilling out in the room. This is like a postcard. The view of the resort is incomparable. The room is modern, comfortable, and functional. World-renowned Kaihara denim fabric made us so relaxing. The exterior of the building is outdated, but the inside is truly sophisticated. Facilities tend to be the latest. Then all of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, pajamas, bathrobes, denim outfits, a coffee machine with capsules, bottled water, and a green tea set, etc. There are BVLGARI amenities in the bathroom. Then this is child-friendly. Baby cribs are available for borrowing if you request. Free WiFi reception was good in the property. Room service is not available. There is no convenience store nearby. You may want to buy your necessities before coming here. Complimentary milk, beer, lemon water, Chinese tea, and homemade egg ice cream, etc., are available at the lounge near the communal hot springs. Also complimentary coffee and English tea are available at the lobby from 7:00-10:00. The small gym is available from 7:00-23:00. You can rent sportswear and running shoes at an additional charge. Then there are wonderful indoor and outdoor communal hot springs, bedrock baths, and Jacuzzi in-house. All of them are open from 6:00-24:00. *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area. Then there is an amazing infinity pool. It is open in the summer season only. You need to bring your own swimwear, etc. Also, there are interesting activities such as relaxation yoga, visiting the desert Island, and Zen training experience, etc. Then Bella Vista Spa and Marina ONOMICHI is a universal design. There are some rooms for wheelchair users. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform staff as they can arrange a room near the lift. Then food experience was just divine. You can choose either Japanese or Basque cuisine for dinner and breakfast. All local ingredients were so fresh, high-end, and testy. We were so impressed with each dish. If you are a gourmet, you should try it. All meals are served in the restaurants. *Please note that inform staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Also, complimentary baby food was available when we stayed in 2017. Complimentary onomichi ramen noodle for a night snack is available near the lobby until 22:00. Then, as far as I know, there wouldn’t be nice restaurants around the property. You may want to book a room including meals. Then staff tends to be sophisticated. If you expect 5-star hotel service, you should stay here. Overall, for this price range, the performance of the service, amenities, and food, etc., were way above expectations. It’s well worth a visit. Enjoy being completely lazy with a Champaign in hand at the large deck in front of the lobby while hearing the sounds of ocean waves. Then free shuttle service is available from Fukuyama Station, Onomichi Station, or Hiroshima Airport. You need to book it by 18:00 of the day before. Refer to the below timetable.
