What kind of onsen hotel is Bourou Noguchi Noboribetsu?
The property is a luxury stylish boutique hotel in Noboribetsu Onsen, Hokkaido. This is like a hideaway for adults. There are 40 rooms only. We seldom met other guests in the property even though it was almost fully booked. The property completely emphasizes private experiences for each guest. Each room has a private hot spring. The hot spring water is naturally milky white which makes your skin really smooth. Everything, such as interior, decorations, service, and food is truly sophisticated. If relaxation is your main purpose, definitely, the property would be a perfect place. On the other hand, if you are looking for an authentic ryokan adventure, this is not. The property would be great for couples, families, small groups, or solo travelers. *A minimum age requirement of 13 applies. The ambiance is serene, relaxed, and tranquil.

Is the location easy to access?
Yes, it would be easy. Free shuttle service is available from the North Exit of Sapporo Station at 14:00, or New Chitose Airport at 14:30 or 17:00. You need to book it in advance. It takes 120min from Sapporo Station. It takes 60min from New Chitose Airport. Then it wouldn’t be easy to find the entrance of the property. I would recommend using the shuttle service as much as possible when you visit here.
Where is the best accommodation for anniversaries in Hokkaido?
If you are looking for venues for special occasions in Hokkaido, the property would be one of the best choices. The staff arranges flowers and cakes to celebrate an anniversary at additional charges if you request in advance.

Rooms I would recommend?
If you are going to stay here, I would recommend a luxury suite room. You can relax while viewing a peaceful Noboribetsu onsen from large windows. The room is so spacious, user-friendly, and modern. You can enjoy white noise from the river while chilling out in the room. It seems that some rooms have no nice view.
How about toiletries & in-room amenities?
All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, a green tea set, samue outfits, pajamas, bathrobes, a coffee mill with beans, sweets, and a complimentary mini-bar including beer. Also, you can choose bath amenities, such as L’OCCITANE, Omnisens, or ARCHIVE., etc. A DVD player, a CD player, and an air cleaner were placed in our room. Facilities including home appliances tend to be the latest. Free Wi-Fi reception was sometimes patchy when we stayed in 2017. Room service is available from 16:00-22:00.
How about In-house Facilities?
There is a stylish lounge. Complimentary soft drinks, such as coffee, tea, orange juice, etc., are available at the lounge while listening to Jazz music. It is open from 7:00-24:00. Also, complimentary beer is available at the bar from 15:30-17:30. Also, there is a nice library. There is no vending machine for drinks. There is a convenience store within 15min walking distance. Then there are wonderful indoor and outdoor communal hot springs with saunas. All of them are open from 13:00-9:00 the following morning. *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area. Then there is a private hot stoned bath. It costs JPY3,000 for 60min. It’s open from 14:30-23:30. You need to book if you want to use it. Then Bourou Noguchi Noboribetsu is a universal design. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift.

How about meals?
Japanese-French fusion using a lot of fresh local ingredients for dinner was great. The portion tends to be big. Don’t forget to bring your empty stomach. After dinner, don’t forget to visit the bar. It’s open from 21:00-24:00. The ambiance is very cozy. Also, you can choose either Japanese or western cuisine for breakfast. All meals are served in a private room. Dinner starts from 18:00 or 19:30. Breakfast starts from 7:30-10:00. Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Then, as far as I know, there is no nice restaurant around here. You may want to book a room with meals unless you have a car.
The staff tends to be not sophisticated, but friendly. If you expect 5-star hotel service, this is not. Overall, the price range would be reasonable. If you want to get much of an immersive stylish resort spa hotel experience, it’s well worth a visit. Have a nice trip!
