What kind of resort hotel is La Vista Daisetsuzan?
This is a very cozy mountain hut in Asahidake Onsen, Hokkaido. The property would be the best in Asahidake Onsen even though there are some properties around here. You can fully enjoy one of the best ski resorts in the winter season. Also, a magnificent natural landscape offers a variety of walking and hiking trails in summer and fall, so La Vista Daisetsuzan would be popular all year round. The property would be great for family, couples, groups, or solo travelers, but not romantic couples. There would be many families with children on the weekend. The ambiance is tranquil, friendly, and family-oriented.

Is the location easy to access?
The location is deep in the mountains. Free shuttle service is available from Asahikawa Station. It takes 60min by car. You need to book it 3 days before the check-in date. Don’t forget to book it if you don’t drive a rental car. JFYI, it takes 90min by express train from Sapporo Station to Asahikawa Station.
Rooms I would recommend?
If you are going to stay here, I would recommend rooms with mountain views on the highest floor possible. You can chill out at the room while viewing a peaceful mountain and hearing white noise from the forest and starry sky, such an extraordinary experience. The room tends to be functional, user-friendly, and relaxed. Facilities tend to be worn-out, but the housekeeping was excellent.
How about toiletries & in-room amenities?
All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, samue outfits, pajamas, tea bags, and a coffee mill with beans, etc. Also, CD players, humidifiers, strollers, desk lamps, ski wears, and rain boots, etc., are available for borrowing. There are some kinds of pillows on 2F you can choose. Room service is available. Also, this is child-friendly. The staff provides amenities, samue outfits, and meals for small children if you request in advance. The free WiFi reception was good in the property. Each room has a small sink.
How about In-house Facilities?
There are wonderful indoor and outdoor communal hot springs. The spring quality is so creamy, thick, and moist. Also, there are complimentary three private family hot springs that you can use whenever they are not occupied. All of them are open from 14:00-11:00 the following morning. The private family baths tend to be crowded so you may want to use after dinner or before breakfast. *If you have tattoos and want to use the communal baths, use the private family ones instead. Then there is a souvenir shop, vending machines for drinks, and a drying room for skiing equipment. There is a cozy lounge. Complimentary coffee, tea, ice cream, and snacks are available at the lounge. There is no convenience store nearby. You may want to buy your necessities before coming here. Then La Vista Daisetsuzan is not a perfect universal design, but there are few steps. A wheelchair is available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift.

How about meals?
There are two restaurants in the hotel, one is French cuisine, the other is Teppanyaki cuisine. When we had the French food at the restaurant, there was a nice buffet-style salad bar. All local ingredients were so fresh, tasty, and crisp. After dinner, Hokkaido noodle was served for a night snack from 23:00. Then western Japanese buffet-style breakfast was wonderful. The buffet is quite extensive for a small hotel. There was always more than enough food each day. Don’t forget to bring your empty stomach. All meals are served in the restaurants. Dinner starts from 17:00 or 20:30. Breakfast starts from 7:00-9:30. *Please note that inform staff at least 4 days in advance if you have any food allergies or dietary needs. They wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. If you have dinner in the hotel, you need to check-in by 17:00. Then Teppanyaki dinner is served for the first night of stay unless specified otherwise. If you want to have a French course for dinner on your first night, you need to inform the staff by at least 3 days before the arrival date. If you stay for 2 consecutive nights or more will be served Teppanyaki dinner for the first night, and a French course dinner the next day unless specified otherwise. Then, as far as I know, there is no restaurant around the property. You may want to book a room including meals.
Their hospitality is more like typical chain hotels rather than the authentic signature Japanese hospitality, but I guess it’s OK. Overall, La Vista Daisetsuzan has great value for money. We would definitely stay here again when we visit around here. Have a nice trip! Welcome to receive any questions about the property from the below space.
