Hotel Kaneyamaen

Hotel Kaneyamaen wouldn’t be luxury, but if you are a group or family with children, I would highly recommend it.  There are a variety of facilities, interesting activities, and hot springs in the property.  Also, there is an amazing large garden.  You must be excited to take a walk while viewing a beautiful Mt.Fuji in good weather.  You wouldn’t need to go out during your stay.  The exterior of the building tend to be aged, but once you enter the property, it’s like you’re in another world.  On the other hand, if you are looking for luxury modern ryokans, I think you should stay at the sister inn, Bessho SASA Hotel.  If you are going to stay at Hotel Kaneyamaen, I would highly recommend booking a room with a view of Mt.Fuji.  Some rooms have no nice views.  Also, facilities tend to be outdated.  You may want to book a renovated room.  If you are a hot spring freak, I would recommend booking a room with a private hot spring.  If you don’t want to sleep on Japanese-style mattresses in tatami rooms, you may want to book a room with twin beds on tatami mats.  All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, samue outfits, a coffee machine with capsules, a green tea set, tea bags, and bottled water, etc.  The housekeeping was excellent.  Free Wifi reception was great in the property.  Room service is not available.  There is no convenience store nearby.  You may need to buy your necessities before coming here.  Also, this is child-friendly.  Staff can offer moses baskets, yukatas, samue outfits, and chairs, etc., for small children if you request in advance.  Then Hotel Kaneyamaen is an almost universal design.  Wheelchairs are available for borrowing.  If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift.  Then there are wonderful large outdoor and indoor communal hot springs.  In particular, don’t forget to try outdoor communal hot springs on the rooftop on 10F.  You can relax in the bath while viewing a superb Mt.Fuji.  That’s truly amazing.  All of them are open from 5:00-9:30, 15:00-26:00.  Also, there is a private family hot spring in-house.  You need to book it in advance if you want to use it.  It costs JPY3,240 for 60min.  It’s open from 11:00-22:00.  On top of that, there is a footbath hot spring in the garden.  You should try it when you take a walk.  *Please note that if you have tattoos and want to use the communal hot springs, use reserved private family one instead, or book a room with a private one.  Then there is an outdoor swimming pool in the garden.  It’s available from 9:30-17:00 between mid-July and late-Aug.  *A minimum age requirement of 6 applies.  Then, don’t forget to explore in a well-kept traditional garden.  You can appreciate the old-world beauty of the garden.  After check-in, you should visit a tea house in the garden.  A lady staff in Kimono who makes complimentary ceremonial green tea with Japanese sweets between 13:30 and 18:00.  Then the Japanese kaiseki food experience for dinner was great.  The portion tends to be average.  Dinner is served in a private room in a dining area.  *Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with dinner if you have any food allergies.  They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day.   Then western Japanese buffet-style breakfast was good, but it wouldn’t be special.   Then, as far as I know, there is no nice restaurant around the property.  The location is out of the way.  You may want to book a room including meals.  Then the performance of Japanese drums is held at 20:30 every day.  Don’t miss it.  Also, the bar on 2F is truly amazing.  The piano live is held from 21:10 to 21:40.  You can drink while viewing an incredible illuminated garden and listening to a piano performance.  The ambiance is nice for adults.  It’s couldn’t be better.  The bar is open from 21:00 to 23:30.  Then most of the staff tend to be professional, elegant, and proactive.  You can experience signature Japanese hospitality during your stay.  Overall the property would be reasonable.  It’s well worth a visit.  We were so completely happy the whole time.  At last, access to the property would be easy from Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, etc.  Shuttle service from  Mishima Station at 12:45 or Gotenba Station at 13:45 is available.   It costs 2,500JPY for a return ticket from Mishima Station, and 1,500JPY for a return ticket from Gotenba Station.  You need to book it in advance by e-mail k-net@kaneyamaen.co.jp   Alternatively, free shuttle service is available from Mt.Fuji Station.  You don’t need to book it in advance if you get on a shuttle bus from Mt.Fuji Station, but you need to call the staff when you reach the station.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about Hotel Kaneyamaen from the below space.  *All information is as of the
