Nippondaira Hotel

If you want to get much of immersive Mt.Fuji view experience, I think you should stay at Nippondaira Hotel.  This is one of the best places to view Mt.Fuji.  If this is your first time viewing Mt.Fuji, it truly worth staying at the Hotel.  Access to the property would be easy from JR Shizuoka Station.  On the other hand, if you are a hot spring freak, I wouldn’t recommend it as there is no hot spring in-house.  Nippondaira Hotel would be great for couples, families, groups, business persons, or solo travelers.  Also, this is child-friendly.  Staff can provide samue outfits, amenities, and futons if you request in advance.  The ambiance is serene, friendly, and livery.  If you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a room with a view of Mt.Fuji and a terrace.  Others wouldn’t be special.  Some rooms are facing the parking lot.  We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the views from the property.  This is like a landscape museum.  I admired Mt.Fuji many times from various locations in my life, but the views from the property were truly special and I could watch it forever.  If you stay here, you might want to check in earlier and explore in-house.  There is a wonderful large garden with the Mt.Fuji view.  Also don’t forget to view Mt.Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Shizuoka city on the terrace on 6F, next to the lounge on the top floor.  Then the room with a spacious window tends to be functional, modern, and stylish.  The housekeeping was excellent.  All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, pajamas, drip coffee bags, tea bags, bottled water, and green tea bags, etc.  There are ALGOTHERM amenities in the bathroom.  You can travel light.  Then there is no convenience store within walking distance.  You might want to buy your necessities before coming here.  The free WiFi reception was good in our room.  Unluckily, there is no indoor and outdoor communal baths in-house.  Also, Nippondaira Hotel is a perfect universal design, and wheelchairs are available for borrowing.  If you bring people with weak feet, you might want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift.  Then French food experience for dinner was good, but it wouldn’t be special for the price range.  The hotel has two restaurants only, one is French, and the other is Japanese kaiseki cuisine.  They can offer children’s meals as well.  You need to check-in by 20:00 if you have dinner in the hotel.  *Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies.  They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day.  Then there is no restaurant near the hotel, so basically there are only 2 options for meals unless you have a car.  Alternatively, you can go to JR Shizuka Station by TAXI as there are many restaurants, but it takes 25min.  You may feel troublesome.  Then breakfast is a western and Japanese buffet-style.  The food presentation is not extensive, but each dish tends to be a good quality.  We enjoyed breakfast while viewing a beautiful Mt.Fuji.  Then some staff tends to be not sophisticated.  The front service was patchy.  If you expect 5-star hotel service, this is not.  If you cannot find English speakers, you might want to write on paper what you want to say.  Most of the staff would understand English sentences.  I hope you don’t mind.  Overall, the price range tends to be reasonable.  There is no swimming pool, no communal hot springs, no gym, and no library lounge to relax, but we stay at Nippondaira Hotel every winter season.  Because we can appreciate a breathtaking Mt. Fuji.  Anyway, the best season to stay here would be except for the summer season.  Mt.Fuji wouldn’t wear makeup with snow in summer.  If you want to view a magnificent Mt.Fuji, you should stay in the fall or the winter season.  There is a high possibility that you can view a dynamic Mt.Fuji.  At last, you should check a weather forecast before booking a room.  If it’s fine, just go ahead.  Then free shuttle service from South Entrance of JR Shizuoka Station or JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station is available.  It takes around 40min by bus.  Refer to the timetable.  You need to book it in advance.  If you take a taxi from JR Shizuoka Station, it takes 25min.  It costs around JPY4,000.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about Nippondaira Hotel from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.  *Check-in and out times 14:00/12:00.  Check Availability and Pricing for the hotel on or Agoda
