If you are looking for wonderful small resort hotels near Osaka or Kobe, I would highly recommend Hotel Anaga. Overall the hotel tends to be sophisticated. This would be a perfect venue for a weekend trip. Perhaps, if you are a gourmet, you should stay here. There are amazing French and Japanese restaurants in-house. Also, this would be a romantic venue for special occasions. On the other hand, if you are a hot spring freak, this is not. Unlucky there is no hot spring in-house. The ambiance is tranquil, serene, and cozy. The property would be great for couples, families, small groups, or solo travelers. If you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a corner room. You can see an amazing view of the Naruto Strait in good weather. We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the sunset. It looks like a painting. The room is functional, user-friendly, and comfortable. The housekeeping was excellent even though the building would be worn out. The property is well-maintained. Facilities tend to be the latest. The wifi reception was great on the property. All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, pajamas, bathrobes, water bottles, and green tea bags, etc. There are Laura Ashley’s bath amenities in the bathroom. There are no skincare products, though. Baby cribs are available at JPY1,500. Room service is available until 22:00. There is no convenience store nearby, but there is a shop on the property if you buy drinks including beer, snacks, and ice cream, etc. Then there are a cozy lounge and library. There is an outdoor swimming pool. It’s open from 8:30-19:00 between July and Sep. Bikes are available at JPY500 per day. There are tennis courts. Also, there is a nice walking trail along the coast. Then the property is universal design. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet you may want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift. Then this is pet-friendly. There are some rooms where you can stay with your dogs. A doggie Garden is available. It’s open from 8:00-17:00. Only small dogs *up to 15 kilograms that are potty trained and do not bark are allowed in specific rooms. Then food experience was just divine. All meals are served in a restaurant. Also, you can choose western or Japanese cuisine for breakfast. Breakfast time is from 7:00-10:00. *Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with dinner if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Then, as far as I know, there wouldn’t be nice restaurants near the property unless you have a car. You may want to book a room with meals. Then the staff tends to be excellent. If you expect 5-star hotel service, you should stay here. Overall the price range would be reasonable. If relaxation is your main purpose, I would highly recommend it. Anyway, the resort is popular. Because access to the property from Osaka and Kobe is very easy. If you want to chill out in a tranquil atmosphere, you should avoid staying during Lunar New Year, late April to early May, the third week of July to late Aug, a weekend in Oct and Nov, and the end of the year and New Year holiday. Then when you visit the property, you can take a Shinki Bus, a Minato Kanko Bus, or an Awaji Kotsu Bus at Sannomiya Bus Terminal near JR Sannomiya Station, and then get off at Rikunominato Seidan Bus Stop. It takes around 80min. Bus fare is around JPY2,000 per adult. A free shuttle service is available from the bus stop. It takes 15min. You need to book it in advance. Alternatively, a free shuttle service is available from Tokushima Awaodori Airport. At last, don’t forget to check the weather forecast. That’s the most important. Have a nice trip!
