This is one of my favorite ryokans in Japan. If you want something special when you are in Hiroshima, you must stay here.  It’s absolutory worth it.  I’m sure that the visit to this ryokan will be something that you remember for the rest of your life.  Everything, such as staff, food, hospitality, rooms, service, facilities, and views is impeccable.  In token of that, there is not a few local guests stay here.  We sometimes take the trouble of visiting Hiroshima by plane.  Because we miss Migiwatei Ochikochi even though it’s not easy to book a room.  We are so impressed with their warm hospitality every time.  If you want to experience Japanese-specific hospitality when you are in Japan, this would be for you.  The ambiance is for adults, couples, small groups, or solo travelers.  *A minimum age requirement of 13 applies.  If you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a corner view room.  This is amazingly wonderful!  You will be able to see peaceful views while soaking in a private hot spring at the terrace in good weather.  That’s precious time. Perhaps, if you stay with your family with kids, you might want to book a suite room on 5F.  That’s also fabulous. Then Kyoto-style kaiseki experience for dinner is top-notch.  You won’t be able to resist even you are full if you love Japanese cuisine.  Then a private hot spring at the terrace tends to be a bit high temperature.  You may have to add cold water in the tub or wait until it gets a bit cold as there is no temperature control set up.  The spring quality wouldn’t be special.  But the views from the bath is exceptional!  Also, there are 2 private family hot springs on-site at no charge.  Don’t forget to try it.  *Need to book it at the front desk.  Only my issue is that it seems there are many cats around here.  Cats mew sometimes disturbed my sleep.  Anyway, the building was built around 170 years ago.  It’s really worth seeing it.  I heard that only the part of the entrance in the property was used at a red-light district a long time ago.  Also, there are many buildings in Tomonoura which were built 200 years ago.  If you are keen on traditional architecture, you must take a walk around here.  Tomonoura is one of the well-known Filming locations in Japan.  Once you enter this small place, seeing these old buildings really makes you think about the people who used to live here.  You won’t regret staying here.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about the property from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.  Check Availability and Pricing for the ryokan on Agoda
