If you visit Hiroshima, I really think you should stay here. It’s well worth it. It’s like you’re in another world. This is a spectacular place to stay with attention to every detail. Everything, such as the traditional garden, architecture, decorations, furniture, and interior is definitely sophisticated, chic, and unique. We were excited to explore on-site. Once we entered the property, staff welcomed us warmly and we were immediately escorted to a beautiful tatami room and checked in at our room while having a welcome drink with Japanese sweets. Each room is very unique. They are Japanese minimalistic, but very relaxing. This is an authentic design expressing unique Japanese sensitivity. We fully enjoyed seeing a breathtaking garden view from a Japanese-style Terrance called ENGAWA in our room. That felt almost like I was the master of an amazing samurai residence. Also, the garden is illuminated at night. The property is filled with a mysterious atmosphere. Then there are 12 rooms only. The property completely emphasizes private experiences for each guest. The ambiance is serene, tranquil, and friendly. The property would be great for couples, families, small groups, or solo travelers. Facilities tend to be the latest. The housekeeping was excellent. The wifi reception was patchy in the property when we stayed in 2017. Each room has a nice Japanese cypress wood bathtub. This is not a hot spring, though. You can soak in the bath while seeing a peaceful ocean. All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, samue outfits, bathrobes, some snacks, a water bottle, a coffee machine, and green tea bags, etc. There are Shiseido’s skincare products and MRKS&WEB’s bath amenities in the bathroom. *There is no amenity for small children provided. Room service is not available. Complimentary Japanese sake, fresh juice, coffee, and tea, etc., are available at the lounge. Also after dinner, complimentary Japanese sweets, such as a red beans soup with rice cake, a sweet drink made from fermented rice, and ice cream bean-jam-filled wafers, etc., are available. Also, there is a very cozy library terrace. We chillax to the max while viewing an incredible garden and the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. That’s precious time. This is like a hideaway for adults. I felt as if time stopped here. Then there are communal hot springs in-house. The spring quality wouldn’t be special, though. They are open for 24H. Then there is no convenience store within walking distance. You may want to buy your necessities before coming here. The location is in a residential area. Then the property is not a universal design. There are many steps, but I heard that there was one room without steps. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to request the room in advance. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. Then the kaiseki food experience was simply wonderful. All ingredients are very fresh, exquisite, and high-end. If you are a foodie, you should try it. After dinner, some rice balls are served for a night snack. The position tends to be big. Dinner is served in your room. Breakfast is served in your room or a dining area. You can choose where you want to have breakfast. *Please note that inform staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Then, as far as I know, there wouldn’t be nice restaurants near the property. You may want to book a room with meals. Then staff tends to be not sophisticated, but friendly. This is Hiroshima. I guess it’s OK. Then access to the property would be easy. Free shuttle service is available from Ono-Ura Station or Miyajimaguchi Station. It takes 15min by car. You need to book it in advance. Overall the hardware is clearly outstanding. If relaxation is your main purpose, the property would be absolutory perfect. The ryokan must leave a lasting impression. One night’s stay wouldn’t be enough. At last, if you want to chill out in a tranquil atmosphere, you should avoid staying during Lunar New Year, late April to early May, weekend in Nov, and the end of the year and New Year holiday.
