Karuizawa Marriott Hotel

If you are looking for luxury modern rooms with private hot springs in Karuizawa, you should stay at Karuizawa Marriott Hotel.  Actually, it would be very hard to find rooms with private hot springs in Karuizawa.  You can absolutely relax while soaking in an outdoor private one.  On the other hand, if you are looking for hotels near Karuizawa Station, this is not.  The property is a bit away from the station.  It takes 15min by car.  Free shuttle service is available, though.  The location wouldn’t be very much Karuizawa.  If you want to enjoy white noise very much while taking a walk in a beautiful garden, I would rather recommend staying at Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort.  Karuizawa Marriott Hotel would be great for couples, families, small groups, or solo travelers.  Also, this is child-friendly.  Staff can provide cribs, infant bathtubs, and bed guards if you request in advance.  The number of items would be limited.  Also, there is a kid’s play area near the front desk.  The ambiance is lively, cozy, and family-oriented.   It seems that there are many families with children on the weekend.  If you are a couple or solo traveler, you should stay on weekdays.  Then if you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a room with a private outdoor hot spring in the north wing.  The spring quality was good.  We spent a lot of time jumping in and out of our private bath until chick-out time.  The room is functional, user-friendly, and stylish.  Facilities tend to be the latest.  All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, bathrobes, coffee bags, tea bags, bottled water, and chocolates, etc.  Also, there were THANN amenities in the bathroom.  There are some kinds of pillows which you can choose from.  Then, DVD players, Blu-ray players, and humidifiers are available if you request.  Then there is no convenience store nearby.  You may want to buy your necessities before coming here.  There is a vending machine for drinks including beer in the north wing.  Room service is available from 7:00-22:00.  Complimentary wine, champagne, beer, whiskey, vodka, and finger food, etc., are available at the lounge.  If you are an spg platinum or gold member, you can use it for free from 17:00-22:00.  Then the small gym is open for 24H.  Sportswear, shoes, and T-shirts, etc., are not available for rent.  You may want to bring your own.  Also, the communal hot springs in the main wing are open from 6:00-10:00, 14:00-24:00.  If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area.  You may want to book a room with a private hot spring in the north wing.  Then Karuizawa Marriott Hotel is a perfect universal design.  Wheelchairs are available for borrowing.  If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to book a room in the main wing.  If you stay in the north wing, you need to move outside when you go to the main wing.  If the weather is rainy or snowy, you may feel reluctant to move around.  Then this is a dog-friendly hotel.  There are 10 rooms with private hot springs in the annex where you can stay with your dogs.  Then the food experience for buffet-style breakfast was wonderful but I believe a bit more selection of food should be available to this standard of hotel and price.  Then, as far as I know, there wouldn’t be nice restaurants within 10min walking distance.  You may need to get a taxi when you go out for meals.  Overall, the hardware tends to be outstanding but the software, personal, and service were not of the same class and still have a long way to go.  The hotel may be understaffed during the busy season.  Then the location is near Naka-Karuizawa Station.  It takes 5min by TAXI from the Station.  It costs around JPY1,000.  Alternatively, it takes 15min by TAXI from Karuizawa Station.  It costs around JPY2,500.  Free shuttle service is available from the South Exit of Karuizawa Station.  First-come-first-served basis.  Also, a free shuttle service is available from the hotel to Karuizawa Ski Resort in the winter season.  Then if you drive a car, make sure where it is exactly located.  It wouldn’t be easy to find an entrance to the property.  There is a small signboard only.  We passed by in front of the hotel many times.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about Karuizawa Marriott Hotel from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.  **Check-in & out times 3:00 PM/11:00 AM As of May 6th, 2020, due to the coronavirus, the property is temporarily closed for the time being.   They have reopened from the 30th of May, 2020.  Check Availability and Pricing for the hotel on Agoda
