Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort

This is like a small lovely village.  The resort is brand new, opened in July 2018.  If you are looking for luxury classic resort hotels with hot springs in Karuizawa, I really think you should stay at Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort.  Perhaps, if you are looking for venues with magnificent views for special occasions, I would highly recommend it.  On the other hand, if you are looking for a room with a private hot spring, this is not.  There is no room with a private hot spring on site.  I would rather recommend staying at Karuizawa Marriott Hotel as there are some rooms with outdoor private hot springs.  Perhaps if you are looking for hotels near Karuizawa Station, this is not.  The hotel is far away from the station.  It takes 15min by car.  Free shuttle service is available between 7:30 and 18:30, though.   The ambiance is cozy, tranquil, and relaxed.  We were so excited to take a walk in a beautiful large garden while viewing peaceful mountains in good weather.  I felt like I was in another world completely.  Also, the outdoor swimming pool area is illuminated at night.  The ambiance is truly romantic, mystical, and charming.  I feel as if time stopped here.  This property would be great for couples, families, or small groups.  Also, this is child-friendly.  Staff can provide cots, meals, and amenities for small children at additional cost if you request in advance.  Then if you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend staying at a Yamanoue suite room or a Villa suite room.  The staff brought us to our suite room by resort cart as the property is very large.  They are closed between January to May, but you can fully enjoy breathtaking views while chilling out in the room.  That’s precious time.  Rooms in the main hotel building are open all year round.  The room is spacious, functional, and user-friendly.  All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, a coffee machine with four capsules, pajamas, yukatas, bathrobes, and tea bags, etc.  There were GILCHRIST & SOAMES amenities in our bathroom.  You can travel light.  Also, room service is not available.  There is no convenience store within walking distance around here.  You might want to buy your necessities before coming here.  There is no vending machine for drinks in-house.  The Free Wi-Fi reception was good.  Then Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort is almost universal design.  There are lifts.  Some wheelchairs are available for borrowing.  If you bring people with weak feet, you might want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the lift.  Then there is a small gym, a swimming pool, communal hot springs on-site.  The gym in the main building on 2F is open between 7:00-21:00.  The swimming pool is open between 7:00-10:00, 15:00-22:00.  Swimwear, sportswear, and shoes, etc., are not available for rent.  You should bring your own if you need.  The bar in the main building on 1F is open between 19:00-23:00.  The poolside bar is open between 19:00-22:00.  Asama Café is open between 11:00-19:00.  The communal hot springs in the main building are open between 6:00-10:00, 15:00-23:00.  On top of that, there is Happu Onsen in the annex.  The onsen is open between 10:00-22:00.  There are only some properties having hot springs in Karuizawa.  It’s truly rare.  Also, there is a family private bath with nice views, but this is not a hot spring.  Then, there are some bicycles for rent at JPY2,000 per day.  There were plenty of facilities in this property more than we expected.  You wouldn’t need to go out once you enter the property.  A one-night stay wouldn’t be enough.  Then French food for dinner was wonderful.  The portion tends to be small.  You may need some night snacks if you are a big eater.  Also, the western buffet style for breakfast was nice.  There were many kinds of filled & stuffed bread.  The food selection wouldn’t be extensive, though.  The French restaurant is open between 7:30-9:30, 18:00-21:00.  Then there wouldn’t be nice restaurants around here.  It’s surrounded by rich nature.  You may want to book a room with meals.  Overall, the property has nicely balanced software and hardware for this price range.  Staff tends to be sophisticated, friendly, and gracious.  We would definitely stay here again.  At last, don’t forget to check the weather forecast before booking a room.  If it’s fine, just go ahead.  That’s the most important.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.   Check Availability and Pricing for the ryokan on Agoda
