The Prince Villa Karuizawa

We decided to book two nights at The Prince Villa Karuizawa at the recommendation of a friend.  Just 75min on the bullet train from Tokyo Station to Karuizawa Station followed by a 5minute journey on the shuttle bus, we were amazed at how we could be in a completely different world in just over an hour and a half.  The villa is like a luxury holiday home.  This is absolutely one of the luxury family-friendly hotels in Japan.  If you visit Karuizawa with your children, I really think you should stay at The Prince Villa Karuizawa.  On top of that, if you are a big group, the property has great value for money.  We fully chilled out at the villa with a beer in hand while viewing a beautiful forest.  Also, the night sky was full of stars and a moon that seemed like I could reach out and grab them with my hand, such an extraordinary experience.  The ambiance is cozy, relaxed, and tranquil.  This is very much Karuizawa.  Also, the property has great amenities.  You wouldn’t get bored during your stay.  The property would be nice for family or groups, but not romantic couples, or not solo travelers.  Also, this is child-friendly.  Staff can provide a lot of items for children, such as cots, bed guards, strollers, baby baths, baby food, toys, picture books, activities, pajamas, and amenities.  It couldn’t be better.  You can travel light.  Then if you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a villa near “Center House”.  The location would be so convenient.  If you are a hot spring freak, you may want to book a villa with a private hot spring.  Each villa is truly spacious, functional, and cozy.  Facilities tend to be the latest.  The housekeeping was excellent. Then free Wi-Fi reception was good in our villa.  You can get a Wi-Fi connecting ticket when you check in.  Also, a DVD player, a Blu-ray, a CD player were placed in our room.  All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, pajamas, bathrobes, and tea bags, etc.  There were POLA amenities in our bathroom.  You can travel light.  Then there was a kitchen with a microwave oven, tableware, silverware, and electronic stoves, etc.  Also, there were many kinds of complimentary drinks, such as YEBISU beer, Karuizawa beer, sports drink, green tea, orange juice, and black currant juice, etc., in our refrigerator.  Staff replenishes a refrigerator if you request.  Then room service is available between 7:00 and 23:00, such as beef curry, salad, sukiyaki, and assorted appetizers, etc.  Also, there is a nice club lounge in Center House on-site.  The lounge provides breakfast from 7:00-10:00, “Teatime” from 10:00-17:00, and “Sunset and nighttime” from 17:00-22:00.  They have a daily changing menu focusing on western as well as Japanese cuisines for breakfast.  Complimentary beer, coffee, tea, fresh juice, sandwiches, croissants, Danish, baked cookies, cheesecake, and macaroons, etc., are available during TeaTime.  Also, complimentary beer, wine, Japanese sake, shochu, whiskey, soft drinks, and finger food, etc., are available during Sunset and nighttime.  Overall, the food is very fresh and well presented, but not so extensive.  Then The Karuizawa Prince Hotel is equipped for a wide range of activities with your family, groups, and friends.  There are indoor and outdoor communal hot springs on-site.  All of them are open from 7:00-23:00.  *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area.  You may want to book a villa with a private hot spring.  Also, bicycles are available for free between April and November.  The gym is available for free for 24H.  You need to bring sportswear, T-shirts, and shoes, etc.  *A minimum age requirement of 16 applies.  Then tennis court is available for free for 2H between April and November.  You can use the Prince Hotel golf course for free between April and November.  You need to book it in advance.  Then you can enjoy skiing free of charge for lifts ticket between November and March.  Free shuttle service is available from the property to Karuizawa Ski Resort, Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, and Karuizawa Station, etc., between 7:30 and 21:00.  Luggage delivery service is available for free at “Smile Concierge” near Karuizawa Station.  That’s a great service.  Refer to the info.  At last, access to the property would be very easy.  After getting off at Karuizawa Station, take the south exit and find “the Karuizawa Station Prince Hotel Guest Service Center” and then staff brings you to Center House by car.  Then you can check in and out here while having coffee.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about The Prince Villa Karuizawa from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.  **Check-in and out times 3:00 PM/11:00 PM.  Check Availability and Pricing for the hotel on Agoda
