If you are looking for modern ryokans near Kobe, I really think you should stay here. It takes 70min from Kobe Station or 100min from Osaka Station. Access to the property would be easy from Osaka and Kobe. Perhaps, if you are looking for a room with a private hot spring, I would highly recommend it. Each room has an outdoor private hot spring. There are 17 rooms only. Absolutory the ryokan completely emphasizes private experiences for each guest. The ambiance is serene, tranquil, and stylish. Everything, such as furniture, interior, and decoration, etc., tends to be sophisticated. The property would be great for families, couples, small groups or solo travelers. *A minimum age requirement of 12 applies. This is like a hideaway for adults. The property is surrounded by beautiful rustic sceneries. When we arrived here, the staff welcomed us with warmth and Japanese sweets with green tea were served in the lobby. If you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a room with a garden terrace. You can chill out at the terrace with a beer in hand while viewing a well-maintained garden. That’s the precious time. The room tends to be not spacious, but user-friendly and functional. The housekeeping was good. Wifi reception was excellent in the property when we stayed in 2018. All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, a Japanese tea set, a coffee machine, bathrobes, yukatas and samue outfits. A DVD player was placed in our room. Room service is not available. Also there is a very cozy library lounge. You can relax here while listening to jazz. Complimentary coffee and herb tea are available. Also complimentary Japanese sake and wine at the bar section before dinner. Then there are two private family hot springs. You can complimentary use one of them first. You need to book it in advance. You need to pay JPY2,160 second time. They are open from 6:00-23:00. On top of that, you can complimentary use public hot springs in the sister inn, Hotel Yumenoi. They are open from 6:00-24:00. *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the public bathing area. Then the property is almost universal design. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the reception. Then local kaiseki food experience for dinner and breakfast was just divine. The food was truly sophisticated. If you are a gourmet, you must be so excited. All ingredients are so fresh, high-end, and testy. It’s well worth trying it. All meals are served in a private room. The portion tends to be average. Dinner starts from 18:00-19:00. Breakfast starts from 8:00. You can choose Japanese or western cuisine for breakfast. Also some rice balls were provided for lunch when we checked out. Then inform staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Then as far as I know, there wouldn’t be nice restaurants around the property. Most of local papa-mama shops are closing early. You may want to book a room including meals. Then all staff tends to be friendly, warm and helpful. If you want to experience signature Japanese hospitality with personal touch, you should stay here. Overall if you are a foodie, the property has great value for money. Absolutory this would be a perfect venue for a weekend trip. Then free shuttle service is available from Himeji Station at 15:30. It takes 40min from the station to the property. At last, the property is very popular. If you want to chill out in a tranquil atmosphere, you should avoid staying during Lunar New Year, late April to early May, weekend in Nov, and the end of year and New Year holiday. Have a nice trip!
