Hotel Harvest Kyukaruizawa

This is like a holiday home.   If you are looking for cozy modern resort hotels in Karuizawa, I would highly recommend Hotel Harvest Kyukaruizawa.  On top of that, the resort has great value for money.  Also, the location would be perfect, a 10min walk from Karuizawa Station.  A free shuttle service is available.  You need to book it in advance.  The surrounding neighborhood would be so quiet even though there are so many tourists on the main street during the day.   Then there is a large beautiful garden on-site where you can take a walk whenever you like.  The ambiance would be family-oriented, relaxed, and tranquil.  The property would be great for family, groups, couples, or solo travelers, but not romantic couples.  If you are a couple or a solo traveler, you may want to stay on weekdays as you can relax in a tranquil atmosphere.  Then this is child-friendly.  Staff can provide meals, tableware, and yukatas for small children.  You can rent baby cribs if you request in advance.  There is a small amusement arcade.  Also, I noticed that diapers were sold in the souvenir shop.  There is an indoor shallow swimming pool for children.  It seems that there are many families with children on weekends.  Then if you are going to stay here, I would highly recommend booking a twin bedroom with a balcony facing the courtyard on 1F.  You can directory go out into the courtyard from your room, and you can enjoy white noise from a beautiful garden while having coffee at the balcony.  That’s precious time.  This is very much Karuizawa.  Then the room tends to be functional, user-friendly, and cozy.  Overall facilities tend to be a bit worn-out, but the housekeeping was good.  The Free Wi-Fi reception was excellent in the property.   All of the amenities are taken care of including minimum toiletries, yukatas, and a green tea set, etc.  There are skincare products in the communal bathing area.  A small microwave oven, an air cleaner, and a DVD player were placed in our room.  There is a vending machine on each floor.  There is a laundromat.  There was a variety of beer, wine, Japanese sake, and soft drinks at the souvenir shop.  Also, complimentary coffee, tea, and orange juice were available at the lounge in the main building between 9:30 and 15:30.  There is a convenience store nearby.  There are indoor swimming pools.  You may want to bring your swimming wear, swim-caps, and swim rings, etc., if you use them.  They are open from 6:00-10:00, 15:00-21:00.  Then you can rent bicycles at 648JPY for 4 hours, 2268JY for one day.  As you may know, Karuizawa is a lovely place to go cycling.  Then Hotel Harvest Kyukaruizawa is a perfect universal design.  There is room for wheelchair users.  Wheelchairs are available for borrowing.  If you bring people with weak feet or small children, you may want to book a room in the main building as it would be easy to move around.  Also, this is a dog-friendly hotel.  There is no room where you can stay with your dogs, but there are dog cages in-house which you can rent at JPY2,200.  Also, there is a garden for dogs on-site.  Then there are indoor and outdoor communal baths with saunas on 3F.  Only the stone baths are hot springs.  Others are not hot springs.  They are open from 6:00-10:00, 15:00-24:00.  *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the communal bathing area.   Then the property has two restaurants in-house.  *Reservation-only  We tried buffet-style western Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast on 1F in the main building.  That’s wonderful.
