Jinpyokaku

If you are looking for small authentic ryokans near Snow monkey park, you should stay here.  There are 6 rooms only.  Perhaps, if you are looking for rooms with private hot springs, I would highly recommend Jinpyokaku.  Most of rooms have private hot springs.  Only one room called Kokko has no hot spring.  There is a bathtub only.  The ambience would be serene, charming and quaint.  The wooden building is very traditional.  Once we entered the property, we felt that we were being pulled into old-Japan.  We never met other guests during our stay.  The property would emphasize private experiences for each guest.  This is like a secret hideaway for adults.  The property would be great for couples, solo travelers, small groups, or family.  If you are going to stay here, you may want to book a room with a private hot spring.  The spring quality is amazing, soft, and moist.  The water temperature tends to be high.  You may need to add tap water.  We spent a lot of time soaking in our private ones.  The room is Japanese minimalistic, but truly relaxing.  The housekeeping was excellent.  The wifi reception was good in our room when we stayed in 2018.  There is no safety deposit box in rooms.  You need to leave your valuables when you check-in. Then all of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, and a Japanese tea set, etc.  Complimentary soba tea is available in public baths.  Room service is not available.  There is no convenience store nearby.  You may want to buy your necessities before coming here.  Also, skiing equipment including snowboarding is available at an additional charge.  Then the property is not a universal design.  A wheelchair is not available but if you book a room with a private hot spring, you wouldn’t need to move around once you enter your room.  If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform staff as they can arrange a room near the entrance.  Then there are amazing indoor and outdoor communal hot springs in-house.  Only the outdoor bath is for both men and women.  If you want to use it, you need to wear bathing clothes, such as yukata.  They are prepared in the communal bath areas.  All of them are open from 15:00-9:00 the following morning.  *If you have tattoos, you may not be permitted to use the public bathing area.  Then local food for dinner and breakfast was simply wonderful, especially Shinshu beef.  The portion tends to be average.  All meals are served in a private room.  Staff would escort you to the venue when dinner is ready.  Basically, dinner starts at 18:00.  Breakfast starts at 7:30 or 8:00.  *Please note that inform staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies or dietary needs.  They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day.  Then, as far as I know, there are few restaurants for dinner around here.  Local papa-mama shops are closing early.  You may want to book a room including meals.  Then all staff was gracious, helpful, and proactive.  They welcomed us with warmth.  Absolutory you can experience signature Japanese hospitality with a personal touch.  When we visited Snow Monkey Park in the winter season, the staff kindly prepared rubber boots.  Overall, it’s well worth a visit.  For this price, the performance of the service, hospitality, amenities, and food, etc., was way above our expectations.  Definitely, we would come back again.  Access to the property would be OK as a free shuttle service is available from Yudanaka Station from 14:30-17:30.  It takes around 10min by car.  You need to book it by one day in advance of your check-in.  The location is 40min walk from Snow Monkey Park.  Have a nice trip!  Welcome to receive any questions about the property from the below space.  *All information is as of the date that I posted on my blog.  Check-in and out times 15:00/10:00  Check Availability and Pricing for the property on Agoda
