What kind of hotel is Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East?
This is a luxury modern business hotel in Sendai. The location is perfect. The hotel is a directory connected with Sendai Station. If this is your first-time visit Sendai, it would be one of the best. Facilities tend to be the latest as it opened in 2017. It’s functional, user-friendly, and comfortable. On top of that, the hotel has great value for money. On the other hand, If you’re looking forward to hot springs, this is not. There is no communal one even though the location is in Sendai. This would be great for solo travelers, business persons, groups, couples, or families.

Is the location easy to access?
Yes, take a Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo station and get off at Sendai Station. It takes 95min. The entrance of the hotel is not easy to find. Check out YouTube before coming here. Then there is a sister hotel near Sendai Station too, called Hotel Metropolitan Sendai. Some of them go there by mistake. Please be careful. Then it takes 25min by train from Sendai Airport.
Rooms I would recommend?
If you are staying here, I would recommend a room on the highest floors possible. You can see nice Sendai city views while relaxing in the room.
How about toiletries & in-room amenities?
All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, pajamas, a UCC drip pot, and a green tea set, etc. There is no skin product in the bathroom. Room service is not available. There is a convenience store nearby. Free Wi-Fi reception was good but sometimes slow at night. The staff brought me a router for an internet connection.
Then this is child-friendly. Baby cots are available if you request in advance. Availability may be limited. Staff can arrange amenities and pajamas for children. *One child per adult will be free of charge for co-sleep.
How about In-house Facilities?
There is a cozy lounge on 4F. It’s open between 5:00 and 23:00. Wi-Fi reception was excellent here. Complimentary coffee is available. Also, there is a small gym. It’s open between 5:00 and 23:00. You need to bring your own shoes and sportswear.
Then the property is a perfect universal design. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. There is room for wheelchair users. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform the staff as they can arrange a room near the lift.

How about meals?
We tried the western Japanese buffet for breakfast at the restaurant on 3F. The food is not extensive, but the quality would be good for this price range. If the weather is nice, you should eat outside on the terrace. Breakfast is between 6:30 and 10:00. Then if you visit Sendai, don’t forget to try Sendai beef tongue. There are many restaurants around Sendai Station.
My impressions
Overall, everything was beyond my expectations. In particular, the staff is quick, accurate, and excellent. Their service would be first class. There are not many comfortable hotels in Sendai, but this is definitely one of the best. It is recommended for business use and for those who prefer hotels to ryokans.
