What kind of ryokan is Tsukino Nagisa?
This is a small luxury modern ryokan with ocean views in Aichi prefecture. Each room has a wonderful outdoor bath with a nice ocean view. It’s amazing to soak in a private bath while listening to the sound of the waves. The moonlight reflected on the sea was mystical that it was moving. There are 6 rooms only. The only drawback is that there are no hot springs on-site.
Then this is one of the famous gourmet ryokans. If you love seafood, you must be so happy. You can try a lot of fresh local seafood for breakfast and dinner. If you don’t like seafood, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
The location is a 150min bus ride from Nagoya Station but if you plan to travel to Aichi prefecture, it’s well worth a visit.
Then the staff and everyone there was so welcoming. They are the loveliest group. The ryokan would be great for couples, families, groups. *A minimum age requirement of 9 applies.

Is the location easy to access?
No, it would be a little tricky. Take a shinkansen from Nagoya Station and get off at Toyohashi Station. It takes 28min. Alternatively, you can take a Meitetsu line or Tokaido Main Line from Nagoya Station to Toyohashi Station. It takes around 55min.
Then change to a Toyotesu Atsumi Line at Shin-Toyohashi Station, then get off at Mikawa-Tahara Station. It takes 35min. Then change to a Toyotetsu Bus for Iragomisaki at Tahara Eki mae Bus Stop, then get off at Koijigahama Bus Stop. It takes 55min by bus. Then just a 3min walk from the bus stop to the property.
If this is your first visit to Aichi prefecture, you may be worried about where you should get off so you may want to show the below Japanese sentences to a bus driver when you get on a bus.

Then if you plan to visit Ise and Toba in Mie prefecture, the property would be convenient. You can take an Isewan ferry to Ise and Toba from Irakoryokaku Terminal near the property.

If you are looking for a unique place for a special occasion in Aichi, the property would be one of the best. The staff arranges cakes to celebrate an anniversary at an additional charge if you request in advance. This is like a hideaway for adults.

How about toiletries & in-room amenities?
All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, pajamas, tea bags, a complimentary mini-bar including beer, and a green tea set, etc. There was no TV in our room. Room service is not available. Free Wi-Fi reception was good. There is no convenience store nearby. You may want to buy your necessities before coming here.
How about In-house Facilities?
There is no communal bath. There is a cafe, lounge, and souvenir shop. Then the property is a universal design. There is a lift. If you bring someone with weak legs, you should inform the staff in advance as they arrange a room near the lift. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing.

How about meals?
The local fresh seafood is just divine. You can enjoy meals while seeing a beautiful ocean view. All meals are served in a private room. *Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request it on that day.
Then, as far as I know, there is no restaurant near the property. Most of the local papa-mama shops are closing early. You may want to book a room with meals.

My impressions
Overall, the service is excellent. The private outdoor bath with ocean views is amazing. The fresh local seafood is great. It’s no wonder why many locals come here again and again.
