TOP5 Best Hotels and Ryokans with Private Onsen in Hakone
The ryokans and resorts listed below have wonderful rooms with private onsens. Each room has a private hot spring bath. Only Matsuzakaya Honten has private onsens in most rooms, but not in some rooms. However, there are five private family hot spring baths on the grounds with wonderful views that can be used free of charge.
Then, a better time to enjoy a private hot spring is outside of summer. Surrounded by nature, Hakone has many insects in summer. May and June and late October to mid November are the best times to soak in a private onsen while enjoying a beautiful view. If you are staying during the above seasons, Hakone Gora Byakudan, Gora Hanaougi Madoka No Mori or Hakone Retreat Villa 1/f would be especially recommended.
Also, in winter, it is wonderful to enjoy a private hot spring bath with a view of the snowy landscape, but you will be lucky if it snows, as it almost never does in Hakone. Please note that trains and buses may stop or be delayed on snow
