What kind of ryokan is Takitei?
This is a luxury modern auberge ryokan in Kanazawa. Also, there are some amazing rooms with private hot springs. If you are a hot spring freak, it’s well worth staying at Takitei. Perhaps, if this is your first time staying at ryokans, you should stay here. Facilities tend to be the latest. You wouldn’t feel any stress. There are some western Japanese-style rooms with twin beds. You don’t need to sleep on Japanese-style mattresses in tatami rooms. Takitei would be great for couples, family, solo travelers, business persons, or small groups. Check availability and pricing for Takitei on Booking.com or Agoda
Where is the best accommodation for anniversary in Kanazawa?
If you are looking for venues for special occasions, Takitei would be perfect. The staff arranges flowers and cakes to celebrate an anniversary at additional charges if you request by 3 days in advance.
Is the location easy to access?
Access to the property would be a bit inconvenient unless you have a car. You can take a Hokuriku Tetsudo Bus from the number 3 bus stop at East Exit of Kanazawa Station, and get off at Sue Bus Stop. Then the staff can pick you up at the bus stop. Free shuttle service is available until 18:00. You need to inform the staff by phone before getting on a bus. It takes 25min by bus from Kanazawa station. The bus fare is JPY390 per adult. Then it would be very hard to walk from the bus stop to the property. Don’t forget to ask the staff to pick you up in advance. Then if this is your first visit to Kanazawa, you may be worried where you should get off so you may want to show the below Japanese sentence to a bus driver when you get on a bus. Then you wouldn’t miss the bus stop even if you fall asleep.
Please let me know when you reach “Sue Bus Stop”
Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Kanazawa Station. It takes 20min. It costs approx. JPY3,500. Also, it takes 15min from Kenroku-en by taxi. It costs approx. JPY2,800. If you plan to stay for two or more nights, I would recommend getting a rent-a-car around Kanazawa Station.
Rooms I would recommend?
If you are going to stay here, I would recommend rooms with private hot springs. You can fully enjoy your private bath while hearing white noise from the river. That’s precious time.
How about toiletries & in-room amenities?
All of the amenities are taken care of including enough toiletries, yukatas, welcome sweets, and a green tea set, etc. Room service is not available. Humidifiers, bicycles, and CD players are available for borrowing if you request. Free WiFi reception was a bit slow in the property when I stayed in 2018, but I noticed that a PC was placed to use someone.
How about In-house Facilities?
There is a cozy modern lounge in-house. Complimentary coffee, tea, orange juice, etc., are available at the lounge. Then Takitei is almost universal design. There are some rooms for wheelchair users. Wheelchairs are available for borrowing. If you bring people with weak feet, you may want to inform the staff in advance as they can arrange a room near the entrance. Then there are wonderful large indoor and outdoor communal hot springs in-house. The spring quality was nice, like skin lotion. Basically, they are open for 24h. *Please note that if you have tattoos and want to use the communal hot springs, book a room with an outdoor private hot spring instead. There is no private family hot spring in the property. Then there is a vending machine for drinks, but there is no convenience store nearby. You may want to buy your necessities before coming here.
How about services?
This is child-friendly. Staff provides meals, futons, and amenities for small children if you request in advance. Then they can hold your luggage before check-in and after check-out. If you go sightseeing in Kanazawa city before check-in, you should use the Baggage delivery service in Kanazawa Station at an additional charge. It would be very useful.
How about meals?
Kaiseki food experience was just divine. The food tends to be sophisticated. The portion tends to be average. All meals are served in a private room or a dining area. Dinner starts from 18:00 to 19:30. You need to check-in by 19:00 if you have dinner on the property. Breakfast starts from 7:30 to 8:30. *Please note that inform the staff when you book a room with meals if you have any food allergies. They probably wouldn’t be able to prepare alternative food if you request on that day. Then, as far as I know, there is no restaurant around here. The location is out of the way. You may want to book a room including meals unless you have a car.
The most important I would like to highlight is the staff was really helpful, proactive, and friendly. You can experience signature Japanese hospitality with a personal touch. Overall, Takitei has great value for money if compared to others in Kanazawa. Everything, such as food, service, staff, traditional gardens, furniture, and decorations, etc., was impeccable. Takitei would be definitely a 5-star hotel experience and it’s worth every yen you spend. Have a nice trip! Welcome to receive any questions about Takitei from the below space. *If you check-in after 18:00, you may want to inform staff in advance.
